A highly dissociative mind is a complex and wonderful thing. If you have one, it may well have saved you.
DID Mentor Joel Onstenk-Lamberts MSc
50 years of personal DID experience
when trauma and dissociation require extra support
Are you struggling with trauma, dissociation, and maybe even (partial) DID? I can offer guidance and support (supplementing any treatment you may receive) via chat/email and (video) call. My hourly rate is normally €60 but can be adjusted according to your financial capacity - just ask. Introduction/assessment is free and without any obligations.
Experiencing my own long-term DID, healing from the trauma, learning much more about it, and then being able to actually help others who were struggling - all this made it a natural choice for me to offer my support more widely. I can support you when dealing with trauma, dissociation, parts, integration/fusion, and grief. I have experience with (and won't avoid) tough issues such as dealing with persecutor parts or borderline (BPD). All are well understood and welcome here.
I can help to make sense of losing time, memories, or even yourself (identity). I can help to make sense of the different types of dissociation you experience and to understand/manage unresolved trauma. I can help with the interactions and relationships between parts (and others), and with developing a useful inner world. I can accompany you on the path to further integration and fusion (if that is what you want), and be there when the almost inevitable grief hits…
If you decide to work with me, I will be happy to meet all of you - of course including any little, persecutor, or nonhuman parts. I will never judge anyone or anything, and will always let all parts find their way.
I work closely together with certified counselor Anna Marije Onstenk who specializes in writing therapy; both of us have considerable experience dealing with trauma, dissociation and parts. We are located in the EU (Spain) but available internationally and independent of insurance providers.
Victims of organized abuse, OEA/RAMCOA:
I have experience in this field (sadly), and can offer you special provisions.
In case you may still be targeted by your abusers, please be careful when sharing information with me - if only because someone in my position is obviously a target for criminal networks. If you are hiding from your abusers, just never share your location with me, I do not want to know it and will never ask for it. To contact me then, consider using a secure email provider which does not share your IP address, such as (a free plan of) Proton or Tuta, and do not use the contact form (unless you are using a trustworthy VPN, like Proton's). We can easily set up more convenient and secure communications from there.
Anyway - take care.
Dutch/Nederlands:
Ook als je Nederlands spreekt kan je prima bij mij terecht voor steun bij DIS (dissociatieve identiteitsstoornis) of andere vormen van traumagerelateerde dissociatie.
Short bio
![]()
Joel grew up in the Netherlands in a seemingly normal family. However, starting from childhood he suffered from DID (dissociative identity disorder) for 50 years. For many of those years, his covert system of multiple personalities/identities was not only unknown to the people around him, but also to himself. During that time, Joel's main (host) personality lived as a student, (system design) engineer, husband, and father while often being helped by his alternate personalities (alters). Well over a decade ago, he discovered these alters with his wife, who is now educated in psychological trauma and counseling. Together, they went on a journey to build close relationships with the alters and discover the childhood trauma that had brought them about. Along the way, Joel learned a great deal about (structural) dissociation and was able to help his wife in effectively dealing with her own BPD and partial DID (OSDD). Nowadays, Joel's alters (of different perceived genders and ages) are successfully fused into a single, complete personality. Joel currently uses his broad knowledge, experience and perceptiveness to support others struggling with DID or related forms of dissociation.
If you like to know more about Joel and his DID background, have a look at his more extensive DID memoir/autobiography.
Sadly, an alarming amount of mis/disinformation can be found in all kinds of DID-related media. To avoid being misled, you may want to inform yourself using trustworthy sources (feel free to ask me for suggestions).
